When you think about Osaka and Kyoto, you can photograph veiled temples in fog or future clouds. Come to September 2025, this old and modern miracle will continue with a different type of energy: the collection of the most severe minds of the world in pharmaceutical logistics.
Pharma Logistics Masterclass (PLMC ™) will celebrate its fifth release across these famous Japanese cities – a milestone suitable for an evolution program to a global standard where Oscars meet. Since its foundation, PLMC has been a beacon of life sciences, logistical services, researchers, lectures, business workshops, business games, use and practical visits to one week of learning and cooperation.
Why Japan? Why now?
Masterclass this year feels special. Not only because Japan-the third largest economy and pharmaceutical power-plays a host for the first time, but also because Masterclass is uniquely linked to the 2025 World Gallery in Osaka. The topic of the exhibition, “The design of the future community for our lives”, is completely compatible with the PLMC mission: forming the next generation of logistical health care services.
Professor Dr. Roey Jeffrez of Antwerp University, PLMC president, believes that this edition is more than just another station in a growing global tour. He said: “By linking Masterclass to the global exhibition, we double our ability to link works and academic circles directly at the intersection of global trends.” After successful versions in Antwerp, Abu Dhabi, Singapore and Dallas Fort Worth, the journey to Japan represents a natural but deep expansion in the international Masterclass imprint.
Based on this momentum, Frank van Gilder, Secretary -General of Medicines, notes logistical solutions. “
A week in the life of Pharma Logistics “The brightest minds
For an intense four days from September 16 to 19, Kyoto University and the vibrant city of Osaka will become a stadium for more than 150 senior professionals and academics. Participants will dive into market trends, value chain strategies, sustainability models, digital transformation, and organizational compliance.
Heavy weights in the industry like Kansai, Ana Cargo and Nippon Express airports have cast their full support behind this event, not only as Platinum Shepherds but also as active shareholders. Their experience in the logistical services controlled by the temperature, the transfer of medical innovation, and digital transformation will lead to the enhancement of discussions, and the transformation of abstract theories into concrete strategies.
One of the most unique events will be the certification ceremony in the world exhibition itself, followed by a farewell dinner in the Belgian wing-a symbolic signal of the European Academy of Masterclass with the Japanese aspiration vision.
However, what makes this edition really exceptional is the background: Japan itself. Logistics services may work on accuracy and compliance, but innovation flourishes inspiration – which is provided by Osaka and Kyoto in abundance. Kyoto’s culture, which dates back to the craftsmanship and the reputation of Osaka as a noisy commercial axis, reflects that the two participants are wrestling daily: heritage against turmoil, and traditions against decline.
Participants will find themselves in communication and absorb the lessons of society that have mastered the old and new budget – a vital skill for the logistical sciences sector facing Amnesty International revolutions, green states, and transforming global health priorities.
Not just another conference
It would be wrong to assemble PLMC in the crowded world with corporate conferences and seminars. It is almost a deliberate experience. Each edition depends on the latter, supported by cooperation and continuous improvement culture. Professor Dr. Queen Vandnbim, Antwerp University, also developed Masterclass “the real world’s experience with analytical rigor”, creating a dynamic symbolism.
