
Within just a few weeks, Sandon Convention Center in Gotting, South Africa will become a global air transportation center where it hosts the eighth Aviation Africa summit and exhibition. It is scheduled to be held at the sixteenth and 17th of September 2024, and this very expected event will be combined between senior executives, officials and industrial leaders from all over the world of aviation and air transport, making it the first gathering in the continent for the sector.
According to Alan Beeford, the head of the Aviation Africa summit, “The Aviation Africa eighth summit again extracted a wonderful response from speakers from all over the continent and elsewhere to discuss the issues and challenges the continent is undoubtedly faced to achieve its full potential.”
It was hosted by the South African government and the Ministry of Transport, with the leadership of the Civil Aviation Authority in South Africa (SACAA), Aviation Africa 2024 is more than just a gathering; It is a pivotal platform for addressing the challenges and critical opportunities facing the aviation industry on the continent. The summit is a beacon of hope and ambition for an industry that faced its share of turmoil, but it is now planning a cycle of recovery and growth.
The summit will start with a welcome letter from Poppy Khoza, Director of Civil Aviation at the Civil Aviation Authority in South Africa (SACAA). The event by the South African government and the Ministry of Transport, led by SARAAA, confirms the country’s commitment to strengthening the aviation industry and enhancing international cooperation.
The event is characterized by a wonderful set of major speakers, and industrial leaders will share their visions about the current situation and the future of aviation in Africa. Abdel Rahma Pyreth, Secretary -General of the African Airlines (AFRAA), will present his view on industry challenges and opportunities, while Alcinda Pereira, President of the African Commercial Aircraft Association (AFBAA) will feed on the role of flying in business on the continent. Cameel Al -Adawi, the regional vice president of Africa and the Middle East in IATA, and Sangev Jadia, CEO of Astral Aviation, will present major addresses, offering their views on the broader air transport scene and steps necessary to ensure sustainable growth.
A series of prominent paintings will take place on the two -day summit, which includes major personalities from both the aviation and airport sector. Among the prominent participants, Rodgeger Foster, CEO of Airlink, is one of the leading regional airlines in South Africa, who will join Lulu Rasbutsa, CEO of Air Botswana, at the CEO of the airline. Their discussion will focus on moving in the challenges of the African market, including the operational, organizational and financial obstacles facing transport companies in the region.
The MPUOFU Airport Leadership Committee, CEO of South Africa Airport Company (ACSA), and Mampsa Pastel Nakambali, Managing Director of Simon Mansa Capoepoy Airport in Zambia. These leaders will explore the decisive role played by infrastructure development and update in enhancing communication and supporting economic growth throughout Africa.
The closing committee of the event, entitled “Putting everything together: Where does Africa go from here”, to be the most prominent of the summit. Experts like Kevin Story, CEO of the South African Aviation Association (CAASA) will bring together; Dawit Lemma, CEO of Krimson Aviation; Aaron Monitsi, CEO of the South African Airlines Association (AASA); Henok Tiferra Shal, Managing Director of Africa in Boeing Global. Their discussion will focus on the future of African aviation, and deals with the urgent need for cooperation, innovation and investment to open the full capabilities of the continent.
One of the most prominent features of the summit will be the CEO of the airlines committee, which includes heavy weight such as Rodgeger Foster, CEO of South Africa Aviation Winter, and Lulu Rasbutsa, CEO of Air Botswana. This committee will explore strategies to move in the complexities of work in the African market and enhance communication within the continent.
The Airport Leaders Committee is to be attractive on an equal footing, with MPUMI MPOFU, CEO of South Africa Airport Airport (ACSA), and MWAMba Pakience Nakambale, Managing Director of Simon MWANSA Kapwewe Airport in Zambia, leading discussion. Their visions will focus on the decisive role of airports in enhancing economic growth and improving the passenger experience in Africa.
The summit will be crowned with an aspirational painting entitled “Putting everything together: Where does Africa go from here?” This discussion, which includes Kevin Story, CEO of the South African Aviation Association (CAASA); Dawit Lemma, CEO of Krimson Aviation; Aaron Monitsi, CEO of the South African Airlines Association (AASA); Henok Teferra Shawl, the administrative director of Africa at Boeing Global, will go into the future track of African Aviation.
