- LATAM Group and Logiztik Alliance managed 574 tons of CO2 in 2024 through a combination of sustainable aviation fuel use and conservation offsets, covering approximately 15 percent of Logiztik’s export emissions from Colombia and promoting measurable progress toward net-zero goals.
- This initiative, part of LATAM’s “1+1: Offsetting for Conservation” programme, supports the CO2Bio project in the Orinocoya region of Colombia, protecting floodplain savannas while enhancing biodiversity and social value through certified carbon offsets.

Derived from animal fat with life cycle emissions reductions of up to 74%, and shared cost offset, the partnership showcases a scalable model for integrating efficiency, innovation and climate responsibility into air logistics across South America.
Logiztik Alliance Columbia and the LATAM Group managed 574.8 tons of CO2 associated with Logiztik exports transported via LATAM Group’s shippers in 2024. This achievement was made possible through a combination of two complementary actions: Emission reductions from the use of aviation fuel Sustainable (SAF) under book-and-claim or mass balance methodologies, and compensation through a “1+1: offset to a ‘conservation’ programme.”
In total, 566.89 tons of CO2 were offset by conservation projects in South America, while the remainder corresponded to emission reductions achieved through SAF. This effect is equivalent to the annual emissions of 125 cars, according to the US Environmental Protection Agency. Through this initiative, Logiztik Alliance manages approximately 15 percent of its export emissions from Colombia in 2024 in partnership with the LATAM Group.
“Together with Logiztik Alliance, we share the conviction that managing industry emissions requires multiple solutions. This collaboration, which combines the use of strategic SAF with high-impact environmental conservation projects, is a concrete example of how working together with our customers, we can enhance “Measurable actions towards net zero emissions by 2050 and promoting air freight logistics that integrate climate change management solutions across South America.” LATAM Cargo Group.
“In a context where the market and international regulations demand greater environmental responsibility, acting with commitment is not only a duty, but also a strategic necessity,” emphasized Jaime Muñoz, General Manager of Logiztik Alliance Colombia. “We have always believed in the power of joining forces. This partnership with LATAM allows us to continue paving the way, showing that efficiency, innovation and climate action can go hand in hand.” Side by side in every international operation. We invite our customers to join these initiatives to multiply the positive impact.
Sustainable aviation fuel is produced by Neste MY SAFderived from animal fat and blended with conventional jet fuel, allowing life cycle emissions to be reduced by up to 74 percent compared to conventional fuel.
In addition, the offset contribution from LATAM and Logiztik Alliance supported the CO2Bio project, an internationally certified project under the BioCarbon standard, recognized for its high environmental and social value in Colombia. The project focuses on protecting floodplain savannas in the Colombian Orinocoya region.
