
The total charging volumes via Brussels airport increased by 11 % in April compared to the same month last year, reaching 69,617 tons. The total amount of goods transported increased by 11 %, reaching 58,855 tons.
While a 9 % fully exciting sector decreased, the abdomen shipped increased by 19 %. The integrated services recorded a strong increase of 27 %, and the shipping sizes that were transported by trucks grew by 12 %.
The main import areas were Asia, Africa and North America. We also see the same first three in the main export areas: Asia, followed by Africa and North America.
Aviation movements: +5 % compared to the April 2024
In April, the number of flight movements increased by 5 % compared to the same period last year. The number of passengers increased by 5 %, while goods have grown by 7 %.
The average number of passengers on each trip was 150, which is an increase of 3.5 % compared to the same period last year.
Passenger numbers: +8.5 % compared to 2024
In April 2025, 2,122,695 passengers traveled via Brussels Airport, an increase of 8.5 % compared to the same month last year. This increase is mainly due to the Easter malfunction in the Dutch -speaking schools and the start of May holidays in the Netherlands and French -speaking schools at the end of the month. This is a positive result despite the national action of the Federation on April 29, which had a significant impact on travel plans for many passengers.
Transport travelers made up about 12 % of all departures, especially on the roads to and from Africa and North America.
In April, the ten most visited countries, in order, were: Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany, Morocco, Portugal, France, the United States, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
Post Brussels Airport believes that goods sizes grow for the first time in the week of air cargo.
