
On May 22, during a dedicated ceremony, the Airbaltic, along with the main stakeholders, opened the new Baltic charging center at Rix Riga Airport – one of the largest air cargo handcuffs in Baltics. The event collected about 200 guests, including the Minister of Transport in the Republic of Latvia, the international post and shipping partners, in addition to representatives from various industrial institutions and institutions.

The Baltic Cargo Center, which extends to 695 square meters, extends to support the increasing demand for effective and modern air cargo services at Rix Riga Airport. The elbow is located directly in Apron Cargo and is equipped with semi -advanced material processing systems, and the facility will enable the fast and smooth shipping processing. It is characterized by unique features such as rooms controlled by temperature for sensitive-medicines, as well as areas designated for dangerous commodities, live animals and precious things. Integrated food and veterinary services facilities and a customs inspection point simplifying shipping operations.

The Baltic charging center also highlights the strong Airbaltic commitment to sustainability. During the construction process, construction information modeling (BIM) was used to improve efficiency, and the facility meets Breeam sustainability standards, setting a new standard for the environmental development in the aviation industry.
The project was developed, in close cooperation with the pioneering industry partners, UPB NAMS has witnessed the management of construction business, the Ozola Un Bula Architect desk that provides architectural design, and the BLV consulting group that oversees technical supervision.
