Sats Ltd. (Sats), one of the largest air freight processing service providers, and Vietnam Airlines JSC (VNA) on Memorandum of Understanding (Mou) on March 13, 2025 to build and operate an air freight plant at Long Thanh International Airport (LTIA) in Vietnam. The two companies will also cooperate in strategic initiatives, including enhancing support for good -network processing services over the international network in VNA.
LTIA, which is 35 km from Hochi Minh, was built in Dong Nay Province, to reduce congestion at Tan Sunnat International Airport. LTIA is scheduled to do launch operations in stages, where the first stage of operations is expected to start by the second half of 2026. It will have the ability to deal with up to 25 million passengers and 1.2 million tons of goods annually; It will eventually expand to its full capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of goods by 2050.
Cooperation will combine SATS air experience with the global network with VNA plans to launch the first airline in Vietnam, as two companies were placed as a pivotal shareholder in the growing aircraft and logistics sector in the country.
Moreover, the Memorandum of Understanding seeks to expand the current cooperation between the two organizations in goods and goods processing services via the international VNA network. This includes the efforts made to participate in developing custom air and logistics solutions, such as truck transport services and Middle Mile, through Sats and their strategic alliances. By sharing best practices, productivity indicators, and innovative technologies, Sats and VNA aim to improve operational efficiency and service quality across these stations.
