- DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Henk Venema as its new Executive Vice President, Global Air Cargo, strengthening its focus on reliability, transparency and service performance.
- The move, announced by CEO Oscar de Boock, will bring Venema’s two decades of operational experience across Exel, UTI, Geodis and DHL into a global leadership role.
- Venema, who previously served as President of DHL’s Benelux business, is expected to strengthen air freight execution with his expertise in carrier relationships, capacity management and customer-focused operations. His appointment reflects DHL’s strategy to operate with greater speed and consistency in the complex air freight market.

Oscar De Bock announced the appointment, highlighting Venema’s extensive operational experience across carriers, capacity, quality of service, pricing and day-to-day network management. Venema has built a career spanning more than 20 years at Exel, UTI and Geodis, and for almost a decade at DHL. His background across these global logistics companies has given him a broad understanding of customer-facing shipping and service operations.
Prior to his global air freight role, Venema led DHL’s business in Benelux. His regional leadership experience, combined with his longstanding exposure to major international supply chain organizations, places him among the senior operational leaders within DHL’s global freight division. De Bock said Venema’s deep understanding of the air freight product will support DHL’s ambition to deliver consistently, act quickly and create real value for customers.
