- DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Tobias Mayer as CEO of the Middle East and Africa region, effective 1 December 2025, succeeding Amadou Diallo, who will step down after eight years to become Aramex Group CEO.
- A DHL veteran since 2008, Mayer brings extensive experience in finance, digital innovation and strategic growth. He previously served as CFO for the Middle East and Africa and CEO of Saloodo! MEA, DHL’s digital shipping platform. He played a key role in merger, acquisition and expansion activities across Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Ethiopia and the UAE, and was instrumental in the launch of RailDirect, a joint venture with Etihad Rail.
DHL Global Forwarding has appointed Tobias Mayer as CEO of the Middle East and Africa region, effective 1 December 2025.
He succeeds Amadou Diallo, who will step down after eight years to join Aramex as Group CEO. Tobias Mayer has experience in finance, digital innovation and strategic growth. Since joining DHL in 2008, he has held numerous leadership positions, most recently as CFO for the Middle East and Africa and CEO of Saloodo! Middle East & Africa, DHL’s digital shipping platform.
He has also been involved in leading regional M&A activities, expanding the company’s presence in key markets such as Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Ethiopia and the UAE, and creating innovative initiatives such as the RailDirect joint venture between DHL and Etihad Rail.
