What is the biggest change I saw in the industry?
The biggest challenge that I faced in industry was to employ and keep the front lines colleagues – a issue that we still take seriously. It entered the role of the Head of Human Resources at the height of the Covid-19s, during which we had to make some difficult decisions to protect business. These decisions, although they are necessary, affected a large number of our team and were characterized by a very difficult period for all of us. The reconstruction of that point and working to restore confidence in the industry was a major pledge. Although it is great to see improvements in attracting talents and keeping them in recent years, it is still a continuous challenge – the entire industry must address to protect our industry for the future.
At Menzies Aviation, we launched a number of initiatives to address this issue. For example, one of the fields includes a focus on increasing the representation of the representative minority groups in an exclusive representation in this industry – an opportunity that we believe is the wider sector that should give priority.
Window or the corridor seat?
Corridor seat, always! Thinking about falling in a row and having to boycott someone’s step just to reach the bathroom is nothing big of me.
Tea or coffee?
Tea, preferably herbs. I was never a mustache. I still say, “Maybe I know to love coffee when bigger …” but this hasn’t happened yet!
What is your television program or the guilty fun movie?
In order to switch the final brain-I enjoy a little real housewives in Beverly Hills! It is a pure escape and a great look at another world.
What is the most exciting place you visited to work?
In my role, I am very lucky to travel to many beautiful places, and I meet great people and test different cultures, from exciting places like Pakistan to Hong Kong. Only last week, it was a pleasure to visit our operations in Guadalajara and Konxion in Mexico. What makes these places distinctive for me not only the same destinations, but people. Hearing their stories, their pride in their work, and their gratitude for support and passion for being part of the aviation industry is very modest. It is a real honor – and I felt very lucky to experience.
What is the best advice you received ever?
“Where are you?”
As an executive director in the world industry around the clock throughout the week, and a mother of two high -energy children with feverish time schedules, it is easy to be pulled in a million trends. I try to be completely present in everything I do. When I am at work, focus on full participation – communicate with colleagues and give priority to what will really happen to our people. And when I am with my children, I do my best to give them a non -divided attention. In the constantly connected world, there are deviations from emails and other notifications everywhere. For this reason I think it is very important to protect your focus consciously and be present at the present time.
What is the thing that we do not know about you from your CV?
Before joining Menzies, I worked in a special practice as a recruitment lawyer. Then I took legal roles and different compliance within Menzies before moving to HR. I fully enjoyed moving alongside work from things, instead of advising from afar – leaving the back bogging hours was definitely an additional bonus!
